Become a Literacy Volunteer / Tutor Today!

Help someone take the steps to change his or her life! Become a tutor today and work with adults in our community to improve their reading, writing, and/or English speaking skills.

Experience in education is not necessary; all you need is a desire to help others!

Literacy Volunteers staff work closely with all tutors to make sure they have all the tools and knowledge they need through the entire tutoring process.

  • Be 18 years or older.

  • High School graduate or HS equivalency (secondary education preferred)

  • Solid grasp of the English language

  • All tutors must complete a 10-hour training course. Training is available online or in person. Click HERE to learn more about the online training

  • A desire to help others!

No experience in education is necessary. Potential tutors have an opportunity to complete a training course that will set them up for success with students.

Staff and veteran tutors are also available to help plan lessons and activities.
